What’s revolutionary about the newly developed ROTATIONAL STEADY REST from pmh is the possibility of high precision internal and external machining in one working process (one clamping). A rotating clamping ring centers and clamps workpieces in the axis of a machine’s driven work headstock with extreme precision. In this way it’s possible to manufacture extra long workpieces with the highest precision in regard to roundness, eccentricity, concentricity and axis parallelism. An extensive rough-grind of the back rest seat or center as well as drive or alignment mechanisms are no longer required. Fast retrofit, flexibility (e.g. as with the tailstock for the center rest) and the preset automation are pmh standards.
